Closing Up Shop

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

Hey guys. As I move on with my life into an action packed and probably stressful year, this LJ is becoming Friends Only.

Its basically because I'm getting uneasy about who's reading this stuff. Especially after the LTT incident which drove more traffic over here.

If you're not on my friends list: just leave a comment saying who you are etc, (especially if you're from the Lounge or whatever), and I should add you. I cant see why I wouldn't.

There may be the occasional public post here but on the whole: it'll be just for my friends.

This also means the importing will stop on my Facebook but there may be the occasional post over there too.

Thanks,

Andy

P.S. Will all Doctor Who fans please refrain from crying at the picture. *sob*

I GOT ANOTHER UNI OFFER!!!

This time from the Southampton Solent University for Interactive Media Production. I only need like 3 C's to get in which worries me a bit as maybe its not such a great course there or not many people applied for it but I LOVED the university when I visited it. It was slap bang in the centre of the city, had nice accomodation and, (a highlight), their computer labs had MACS!!! Ah goodness!

So yeah: WOOT! 1 of the 2 Unis I want to go to most has offered me a place! YAY!

A Tale Of Two Cities

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

OK so I’m FINALLY gonna update about London. Whenever Ky beats me to it, I know I’m too slow lol so I better get typing. The benefit of waiting: I don’t have to put a detailed report of the day! HA! For a full schedule see Ky’s LiveJournal which I think is called “kyrane7”.

So it started off well. I had my wake up call from Ky at 5am in the mourning and I was up and out on time. It took me about 70 minutes to get to where the bus was picking me up but I was a complete spaz, was on the wrong side of the road and missed the coach. Panic panic panic. In my defence it didn’t stop for long and had it had been there for 2 seconds longer I would have made it. Luckily it stopped for 30 minutes further into Birmingham so I ran, got a train and then ran solidly through the city centre at 7 in the morning. Oh the insanity.

Anyway: the day was totally awesome. It was quite weird meeting Laurie, (L.J), as she looked nothing like I thought she would. To be fair I’ve only seen one small and blurry picture of her so for all I knew she looked like Snoopy. It wasn’t too strange being with Ky. After all we have met before and I’d recognise her anywhere. It was weird with her boyfriend calling her Elaine though. Apparently that’s her official name lol but Laurie and I decided she IS Ky. No question about it. Speaking to each of them individually was just like being online so was no biggy but there was a point, (I think it was just after we tried to find The Leaky Cauldron in Borough Market), that we stopped so Ky could search one of her many maps and I turned around, looked from Laurie to Ky and was like “Whoa! Weird! That’s L.J and kyrane from Leaky!”. It was surreal for me anyway lol. The day was great. Full of laughs. We all had a problem with the Underground escalators though. All these signs saying “Please Stand On The Right” that we just couldn’t get used to. The left pwns, ok? Oh and I got all excited when we were standing at one of the doors to a train and when I looked up saw it was door 7. We’d just had a title yet Laurie didn’t have a clue what I was talking about and Ky just didn’t care. I thought it was cool anyway! Sad to all leave though, and James didn’t come which made sad. But it was still a great end to the year. Even if National Rail overbooked the coach home and then decided they weren’t gonna stop at my stop again, so once again, (now at 11pm), I was racing through the city centre so I didn’t miss my train.

Wicked? Well it was totally awesome. I have literally never heard singing like it. Idina Menzel? Erm: WOW! The type of singing that did make me think “She must have been on top form today because there is NO way that could have been better”. When the show ended I felt like I’d been part of something special, like it was a little known secret I had to tell the world about before she was gone. Yeah I was a little crazy. But Defying Gravity, no matter how many times I’ve listened to the soundtrack, or seen video clips of random performances, nothing NOTHING compared to seeing it live. I’d pay the ticket price again just for that song. When she was lifted into the air I was closer to tears than I’d like to admit. So moving and I’ve never heard applause, or clapped so hard, at the end of the first act. Outstanding. Simply amazing.

All this London talk has made me look forward again though. We are in the new year and though 2006 was the best year I’ve ever had, (PCAA, Leaky, S.K.Y.P.E., New York and a LETTER FROM JO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), I hope to make 2007 just as awesome. So of course I looked to the next huge meet-up: Prophecy 2007. I’m just about to book my flights! WOOT!

And then my Dad goes all spazzy on me. He wants to see everything. So I take my sisters laptop downstairs, (mines still playing up), and sit with him and my stepmother, (evil stepmother wouldn’t be too off the mark), and go through everything. I showed him Leaky, the Lounge, the Prophecy site, the hotels site, some of my e-mails, Melissa’s moms site, (don’t ask), and even some Lumos photos.

But then I started getting really pissed. My stepmum’s under the impression that the hotel will ID me wherever I go. Hello! I’m ALLOWED to be there, just not to have a room to myself. They’re not gonna ID every person who looks 18 and then demand to know if they’re sharing a room. She seems to want to sabotage the whole thing. Saying I need more money then I do, saying how some people don’t seem genuine or trustworthy and making fun of people’s profiles. She can go to hell. I found it funny though how my dad read Sue’s bio and took it too literally. He actually asked if there is a real Leaky Cauldron. LMAO.

Then my dad decided he wanted a bunch of people’s emails so he could ask them about Prophecy and the like. So many people will be getting emails off him so I’m sorry, (but don’t worry I’ll warn you before hand). He asked for Melissa’s e-mail because she’s the Big Cheese, but I was just like “She has so many e-mails: she wont reply”. Then my stepmum started to say: “Well that’s rude! She should reply as we need to know these things”. That REALLY pissed me off. Who is she to judge Melissa’s life? “Well funnily enough: she’s a very busy person and me getting to Toronto is not on the top of her list of priorities, stangely enough!” I snapped back.

Oh well we’ll see how it goes.
